Upcoming Events
AUG 3rd Martinsville lock-in. All GMA students are invited to a lock-in at Dance Discovery in Martinsville. It will start approximately 9:30pm. Students are expected to be picked up promptly at 9:00 am the following morning in order to clean the school for classes Sat. Morning. Bring a sleeping bag and pillow. The only cost is 3 bucks to help with snacks. However, we do need you to sign up by class that evening so we can anticipate demand.

Aug 4th TTCA Testing We have scheduled a testing with GM Choi on Sat. Aug 4th at the Martinsville School tentatively starting at 3:00 pm. Several students are eligible but everyone must be able to do the testing requirements before the test in order to qualify. We will also try to make instructors and assistants more available for private lessons for anyone who wants/needs more fine tuning.

Aug 11th Battle of Indy is a large tournament at the Pan-Am Plaza in downtown Indianapolis. It is recommended that anyone interested go as spectators before deciding whether they want to compete in future years. Cost for admission is 7-10 dollars at the door. The event is an all day affair, so also be advised that you may be there a long time without seeing the desired competitions or divisions.

Aug 12th USHF Black Belt promotional exam will be held on the IU-Bloomington campus on Aug 12th. This is an opportunity for Hapkido students to see the full USHF curriculum up to black belt. Anyone is welcome to watch. A good friend to the GMA program, Todd Miller, is one of the black belt candidates scheduled to test.

Aug 18th-19th Dr Tao tai chi push-hands seminar in Bloomington. It is only recommended to GMA students with previous tai chi experience. The seminar is rather expensive, but anyone interested should talk to Mr. Sieg prior to the event. In the past, the IU instructor has extended the same courtesy of price breaks for college students to Mr. Sieg students as well as his own.

Aug 22nd DePauw University Clubs Start Training. Both Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do clubs will meet the first day of classes, Aug 22nd. Both clubs have a lot of momentum going into this semester, and we are looking forward to hitting the ground running.

Reminder about pictures If you havent already, please give or loan Tracy or Mr. Sieg a picture from the Cunningham photography shoot. We have ambitions to put them on the website.

Check out GM Choi on page 64 of the recent issue of Tae Kwon Do Times. He is not featured in the article, and he is incorrectly labeled as being from Lexington Ky, but hey, its still kinda cool.
