-> Congratulations to Mr. Yoshida-our first black belt!!
Mr. David
Yoshida is the first GMA student to earn the rank of black belt, and has shown
tremendous dedication in the process, commuting from Indy for lessons. It should
also be noted that as a black belt, etiquette stipulates that Mr. Yoshida is
given the proper respect from lower belts, which may be hard to adjust to but is
nevertheless important.
-> Changes in Instructorship
We are sorry to announce that GMA
apprentice instructor Mike Loureiro has stopped his teaching activities with us
as a result of a promotion in his other job. He will certainly be missed, but
the other instructors will make sure the organization does not miss a beat. But
on the other hand, Mr. David Yoshida has formally become an apprentice
instructor and will be taking on a larger leadership position within GMA, so
welcome Yoshi!
-> Belt exams are fast approaching
-DPU HAPKIDO Testing will be Wed,
Nov 29th from 6-8.
-TTCA testing for both schools will be held on Sat, Dec.
9th in Louisville.
-> GMA-M to host a Christmas Party Dec 15th, classes combined! It is that time of year, so we want to spread some cheer by having a Christmas party on Monday, Dec 18th. There will be a joint class, for both TKD and Hapkido students from 5:30-6:30. We will go out to eat at 7:00 that evening. We encourage the whole family to attend. We need to know by Mon. Dec 4th how many people are coming, so we can make arrangements and plan ahead. Exact price per person and restaurant location will be announced after all of the RSVP's are received. There will be a sign up sheet at the school or you can email us your RSVP, yitma@gentrymartialarts.com. Let us know how many in your family will attend, and we look forward to seeing you there. This is a great opportunity to cement social ties among the students and parents.
-> Time to wow your instructors with your knowledge Ok, at least it is time to show your instructors your reports cards, which will hopefully indicate that you guys are learning something. All GMA students grades 1-12 are expected to bring in their report cards within the next two weeks (deadline 12-8) or class participation will be limited.
-> Check out our new flash intro for the GMA website We have added a little flash to the website. Be sure to check it out and give us some feedback -> www.gentrymartialarts.com
